Chemically known as carboxylated styrene-butadiene latex, this is a small-molecule linear chain emulsion that dissolves easily in water and polar solvents. It appears milky white, sometimes with a faint bluish sheen. It is used to bind graphite, conductive agents, additives, and copper foil or copper mesh together.
